Darlene will be remembered for her caring heart, her love for her family, and the kindness she showed to those around her. Her grandchildren held an especially precious place in her heart, and she treasured the time she was able to spend with them and the memories they made together.
Darlene also had a special place in her heart for the children in her neighborhood. Her home became lovingly known as the “Kool-Aid House,” a place where neighborhood kids knew they were always welcome. She was someone they could count on for a friendly face, something to drink, a helping hand, or simply a safe and welcoming place to be.
She loved reading, listening to music, and caring for her plants. She took great joy in watching her plants grow and tending to them, just as she took joy in caring for the people around her. She also loved her dogs.
Darlene's greatest legacy will be the love and kindness she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, her friends, her neighbors, and the many lives she touched throughout the years.
