If you knew Dan, you would know how big his heart was and how he unconditionally loved those around him. He had a quiet soul, but was always willing to lend a helping hand. In his younger years, he enjoyed horses and being outside. He was always a sucker for westerns and Andy Griffith.
Dan was known as a well-respected supervisor at Amana/Goodman for many years. He finally retired at MTS and is leaving behind more lifelong friends there as well. Overall, his large heart cared for everyone in his life, including his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and many family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Nina and Clay Holcomb, Jennifer and Dean Mason, Kim and Robby Hunt, and John and Kelecia Hyatt; grandchildren, Saben Mason, Shealyn and Peyton Hargrave, Andi Hunt, Kasen Holcomb, and Chandler Hyatt; great-grandchild, Amelia Hargrave; sisters, Doris Hawkins, Georgia and James Muirhead; sisters-in-law, Marie Hyatt, Chung Hyatt, and Sherry Hyatt.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dakota Hyatt; siblings, Lawrence Hyatt, Garland Hyatt, Edwin Hyatt, Cleo and Terry Moorehead, Lucy Sellen, Jerry Hyatt, and Patricia Ann Himes; brother-in-law, Robert Hawkins; and parents, Eddie and Martha Boyette Hyatt.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1pm until 4pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4pm at the funeral home with Rickey Hyatt officiating.
