Charles Leo Simmons of Hazel Green passed away Sunday at his residence.  He was 73 years old and was preceded in death by his parents: James Henry and Daisy Simmons and daughter, Rebecca Lea Simmons.

He is survived by his wife, Inez Simmons; daughter, Melissa Simmons; one sister, Novella Simmons all of Hazel Green; three brothers, Eddie Arthur (Joyce) Simmons of Taft, TN; Lawrence (Jane) Simmons; and Carl (Sandy) Simmons both of Hazel Green; one brother-in-law, Randall Mason of Hazel Green; and two sisters-in-law, Teresa (Eddie) Holland of Locust Grove, GA; and Jean Mason of Meridianville, AL.

He graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1960 and founded Simmons Ready Mix Concrete in 1972.  He was a member of Toney Free Holiness Church.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Toney Holiness Church just off Pulaski Pike on Morris Road in Toney.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at noon on Wednesday at Toney Holiness Church.  Bro. Earl Payne and Bro. Rodney Underwood will be officiating.  Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Meridianville.
