Cathy Moore Howard

Cathy Moore Howard of New Market passed away peacefully at home with her family in the Plevna Community on Friday. She was 72. Mrs. Howard had retired from the Madison County Tax Assessors office where she was an Appraiser for almost 30 years. She enjoyed spending her free time on the golf course, traveling, and most of all, shopping. She loved her family and her grandpups very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Thomas "Tommy" Howard; her parents, Johnnie Wesley & Martha Lou Moore; her brothers, Roger Wesley Moore and Johnnie Dean Moore; her sister, Rita Kay Mason.

She is survived by her daughter, Mindy Kay Crabb and her husband, Duane; her brother, Danny Wayne Moore; her sister-in-law, Sheila Moore; her brother-in-law, Jackie Mason; her grandchildren: Kaylee, Charlie, Gage, Brittney, and Amanda; her great-grandchildren: Jaclyn, Ashlyn, and Tagan; her nieces: Teiera Mason, Stacey (Scott) Henshaw; her nephew, Daniel (Amanda) Moore; her special friend, Dennis Skeen and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Durham officiating. The family will begin receiving friends two hours before the service. Burial will follow the service and will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in New Market.
