Mr. Bobby Merrill Tucker, of Toney, Alabama, went to be with the Lord Tuesday. He was 81.
Mr. Tucker served as an elder for the Plainview Church of Christ for over 10 years, and he served in Costa Rica mission work for 25 years. He taught at Madison Academy from 1971–1985, where he was lovingly known as "Coach Tucker." He also served in the United States Army.
Mr. Tucker was a very patient man, and while he was a man of few words, people knew that what he did say was always worth listening to.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olean and Junior Tucker; and his brothers, Joseph McLeroy and Denny (Pam) Tucker.
Surviving family includes his wife of 55 years, Frances Tucker; his children, Emily McGee (Bill), Guy Tucker (Jeannie), Micah (Becky), and Laura Jones (Jeff); his grandchildren, Michael and Darby McGee, Luke, Seth, and Ally Claire Tucker, and two bonus grandchildren, Clay (Emilee) Bonner and Ethan (Summer) Bonner; his great-grandchildren, Tobias, Eliza, and Shiloh Bonner; and his two sisters, Dian Scott and Nyoka Hogan.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following at Plainview Church of Christ with Davey Gardener officiating.
Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
