William Alexander “Bill” Graves, 91, of Meridianville, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, in Huntsville.
He was a 1953 graduate of Butler High School and a longtime member of Meridianville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. Bill worked as an electrician and was known as a jack of all trades. He retired from Wells and Tate Electric in Meridianville.
Bill served in the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Lance Corporal. He received several awards for his service during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelba Jean Graves; his sons, William A. “Billy” Graves Jr. and John Graves; his sister, Regina Goede; his parents, A.L. and Jessie Telette Wells Graves and numerous uncles and aunts.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Michael Javins; his grandchildren, Kasey Parsons (Will), Julia Smith (Aaron), Kandice Graves, and Johnathon Graves; his great-grandchildren, Madison Parsons (David Hayes), Montanna Lowe (Devonshea Conner), Mekhi Underwood, Nileah Underwood, Brooklyn Hymer, Riley Hymer, Jayden Hymer, and Taylor Robinson; and his great-great-grandchildren, Delilah Watson, Asher Hayes, and Leilani Conner. He is also survived by numerous cousins, his uncle and aunt, Bob & Mary Catherine Wells, and his niece, Patti Goede Hall (Mike).
The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Lorick officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Meridianville.
Pallbearers will be Mekhi Underwood, Jimmy Stanley, John Miller, Aaron Smith, David Hayes, and Will Parsons; Honorary pallbearers are Rod Owens, Rodney Hess, and Devonshea Conner.
Bill will be remembered for his faith, enjoying spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and his love for Alabama football.
