Annie Ruth Tallent Priest Morris of Hazel Green went to be with the Lord on Friday while at home surrounded by her loving family at age 97. She was a faithful Christian and had been part of the Holiness Church for 76 years, most recently the Meridianville Holiness Church for the last 25 years. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, love for everyone around her, especially for all her family.

Annie Ruth was a hard worker who gave her everything to serve her family. She loved spending time with them and was very much a people person who always loved showing kind southern hospitality to everyone in her life. She enjoyed working outside in her flowers and was always thrilled to visit the Smoky Mountains.

She was preceded in death by her parents, King Rufus Tallent and Dorothy Lockwood Tallent; her first husband, Doil Priest; her second husband, Junior Morris; her son, Harold Priest; her granddaughter, Kristi Priest King; her siblings: Myra Bain, Trixie Blaylock, Leonard Tallent.; her son-in-law, Gary Pentecost.

Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Malinda & Dale Cantrell; her daughter, Rebecca Pentecost; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Priest; her grandchildren: Joey (Susie) Cantrell, Tonya (Todd) Gaines, Kraig (Tina) Priest, and Mike King; She was also survived by her great-grandchildren: Grant (Jessica) Gaines, Mallory (Cory) Bates, Hunter (Hope) Gaines, Makenzie (Carson) Smith, Hannah (Chase) Anderton, Luke (Hannah) King, Kaleb Priest, Tarpley Priest, and Tassidi Priest along with 9 great-great-grandchildren: Jace Gaines, Colter Gaines, Allie Gaines, Slade Bates, Everleigh Bates, Ledger Bates, Laci Gaines, Graham Smith, and Rhett Anderton.

The family will receive friends on Monday night from 5pm until 8pm at Meridianville Holiness Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1pm at the church with Brother James Bridges, Brother Dale Cantrell, and Brother Todd Gaines officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will be at the church two hours before the service.
