Peggy Patterson Obituary

Peggy Joyce King Patterson, 77, of Hazel Green, AL passed from this walk of life and entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 29, 2019.
Peggy was born October 21, 1942 in Madison County, AL to Fred King and Annie B Jacobs King. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter (April Joyce), her husband Theodore C. Patterson, and several brothers and sisters: Freddie King, Jack King, James King, Beverly King, and June Britton.
She is survived by a son, Richard Patterson of Hazel Green, AL; two granddaughters: April (& Kevin) Grove of Hazel Green, AL and Rachel (& Justin) Neeley of Toney, AL, a grandson, Joel Patterson of Huntsville, AL and 5 great grandsons: Kevin Grove Jr, Lucas Grove, Aaron Grove, Kaleb Neeley, and Patrick Neeley. She is also survived by a brother, Jerry King and a sister, Glenda Pierce as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends that she considered family.
Peggy was a homemaker all her life. She married her husband Theodore (her Teddy Bear) when she was young, and she devoted herself to being the best wife and mother that she could be. She truly made her house a home. She took care of her husband and she helped raise babies- one of her own plus dozens of others, including her younger brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, grandkids and great grandkids, and even friends. She loved each of those children as if they were her own.
Peggy spread love wherever she could. She truly believed that her mission in life was to love others just as Christ had loved her. She was even known to tell telemarketers that she loved them before hanging up on them. She couldn't stand the thought of anyone being upset with her, even if it was someone she didn't know. It was impossible to be upset with her though. She was truly one of the kindest and most selfless women who ever lived.
All her life, Peggy put the needs of others above her own. It didn't matter if she herself was tired, sick, or weary. She still took care of the people she loved. And she did it with an open heart, never expecting to be repaid or even acknowledged for her deeds. She did it because she truly loved helping people and making them smile.
Peggy was a treasure to everyone who knew her. She was everything good that this world needs more of. Her love and her spirit will be greatly missed, but it lives on eternally in the hearts of those she leaves behind. And through them, her legacy will continue to grow as they too spread the love that she shared with them.
