So sorry to hear about Jim, we were on vacation in Florida and couldn't be there but our thoughts and prayers were with you. We were traveling by the sign to JSU where he went to college during the time of the funeral when we were coming home. He loved his family and you have a lot of good memories.

Susan, I just want to express my deepest sympathies. I've been kept aware of many of Jim's accomplishments over the years by what I've seen on Facebook, but his obituary tells the bigger picture of a live well-lived. I was proud to have known Jim and will always have fond memories of our times at HGHS and JSU.

Mr. Jim,
I enjoyed meeting and seeing you frequently when I worked at Huntsville Pediatrics.
Thank you for making sure that we found just the right formula for my baby girl, now 26 years old, that went through terrible episodes of Acid Reflux. You were a very sweet person and you will be missed.
Sincerely,
Becky Taylor

Susan,
I will always treasure our time spent together a couple of weeks ago. Jim was a great example of leadership and service for the citizens. I will miss his enthusiasm, happiness and laughter when we reconvene.
I am heartbroken for the loss to your family. It is most regrettable that a planned conference in Denver will keep me from paying my last respects to him. Our last conversations and laughs will have to do.
Sending love, hugs and prayers for your comfort.
Margie

Our hearts are heavy at the passing of Jim. As some people have described him, he was larger than life. He lit up a room with his presence. As you know, he was so proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. His granddaddy name fit him well, "Big Daddy". He was like a daddy to many. When I provided childcare for Ty, I will never forget him telling me that he trusted me with his grandson. I felt honored to be a small part of his family. He is sorely missed. Our prayers are with you, Susan, Krista, Trey, Carter, and the rest of the family.
