Edith “Edie” June McKelvey Phillips, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2017.  Edie was born on May 15, 1938 in Franklin County, Tennessee.  She was preceded in death by her father, R.J. “Jack” McKelvey, her beloved mother, Elaine Arnold McKelvey, her brother Robert E. “Bob” McKelvey, and her bonus daughter Suzanne Phillips.

She leaves behind the love of her life, Henry Monroe Phillips.  They were married on February 14, 1983 and have shared an amazing life.  Even through the trying and sometimes difficult times of raising 8 children between them, they have remained steadfast in their love and faith for 34 years.  Henry has remained a faithful and loving caretaker to the end and he can find peace in knowing that they will be reunited in Heaven one day.

Edie’s love of the Lord and her family were known by all that knew her.  She was never ashamed to share the gospel with everyone around.  Our peace comes from knowing that she is now in the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ.  She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved watching her grandchildren as they participated in numerous activities. In her earlier years she enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was quite accomplished at both.  She enjoyed her employment as a secretary at SCI, from where she retired to raise her bonus family.

Edie is survived by her children and bonus children.   Son, Greg Elmore, his wife Lori, granddaughters Embree and Enslee.  Grandson Reid Forester, his wife Holly, great grandchildren Hunter Forester Alamillo, Hope Forester, Hailey Forester and Benjamin.
