Carolyn Halsey Holcombe, 54, loving wife and mother, returned to her heavenly home on August 4, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

'To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord' (2 Cor. 5:8)

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted… “ (Matthew 5:4)

Carolyn was born July 23, 1964, in Roanoke, Alabama, to Carlton “Buster” and Merita Halsey. She graduated from Demopolis High School in 1983. While she had worked various careers, she was most proud of her work at the Child Crisis Center in Mesa, Arizona from 2004-2006. She loved children and always sought to do her best work for the children at the center. On December 22, 2003, Carolyn married the love of her life, Allan Wayne Holcombe, Jr. of South Carolina. They raised one daughter Jessica Alldredge and three sons Tyler Elmore, Ryan Holcombe and Travis Holcombe.

Carolyn was a passionate follower of Christ. She was a member at The Covering Christian Fellowship in Toney. She could be found every Sunday, as her health allowed, praising God. She was also an avid music lover with an eclectic taste. She was best known for her loving and kind nature.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her father Buster Halsey. She is survived by her husband Allan Holcombe children Jessica (husband Philip Alldredge), Tyler Elmore, Ryan Holcombe (wife Eli Banks Holcombe and children Chris and Thomas Banks), and Travis Holcombe, mother Merita Halsey siblings Vickie Narbit, Deborah Laney, and Gary Halsey, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home.
