Albert Whiteley

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.   He had retired from Huntsville Lumber Company where he had worked for many years as Sales Manager.  Mr. Whiteley was a dedicated follower of Christ and was a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years and where he assisted his wife, Doris, in leading the "Good Neighbors" Senior Adult Ministry for a number of years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 62 years, Doris Green Whiteley;  His grandson, Johnny Hudson;  His grandson, Ted Colby;  His sisters, Ruth Clark, Bertha Johnson, Mary Olean "Deaner" Johnson, and Catherine Smithey;  He was also preceded in death by his parents, Lonzy Demaster Whiteley and Mary Anne Dunn Whiteley.

Surviving family members include his son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Fay Hudson;  His daughter and son-in-law, Joeena and Lamar McGriff;   His grandchildren, Leah Colby, Beth Squire, Glen Alan McGriff, and Kerri Smith; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-great grandchild;  He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Whiteley, and by numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 8pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Monday at 2pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service and will be in Prosperity Cemetery in Lincoln County, Tennessee.
