John Carl Watson-Baggott Obituary

John Carl Watson-Baggott Jr of Chattanooga, TN, passed suddenly on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was 45 years old. He was born in Georgetown, SC and spent his youth in Orlando, FL - Go Bucks!! He graduated from Interlochen International Center for the Arts in Traverse City, MI, and attended Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. He was also a proud member of the Brass Band of Central Florida.

John is survived by his husband Aaron Watson-Baggott, his mother Brenda Lamb Baggott, his father John Carl Baggott Sr. and stepmother Roxanne Baggott, his sister Carla Baggott Pirrotta (Douglas), and nieces, Shannon Walczak Howlett and Samantha Anne Becnel, Jessika Watson (Charity Faggard), and Rebeka Watson Felsted (Landon Felsted). He is also mourned by his mother-in-law Sandra Tucker Watson, and in-laws Terry Watson Jr. and Deana Eicher Watson. He was preceded in death by his first husband Terry Baggott-McLemore.

He was a beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle. He will be mourned by many as he celebrated life and people with his gifts of food, music, and love. John and Aaron enjoyed traveling extensively, including cruising. For the past 10 years, he volunteered as an Escort Marshall at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Tournament at Bay Hill in Orlando and ran several 5Ks for several different charities.

He will be honored on April 20th with a celebration of life held at Cloudland Canyon State Park, where he and Aaron were married. Some food will be available but feel free to bring a covered dish. Attire will be casual (tropical wear is encouraged).

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or ASPCA.
