Mitzi Cox

Mitzi Cox, 53, of Hazel Green, passed away on Wednesday at her home surrounded by her family. She had attended Sparkman High School and worshipped at Kelly's Creek Baptist Church in Ardmore, TN. She had been employed by Madison County Schools where she worked as a bus driver for 17 years, mostly at Hazel Green High School. She loved kids and had also worked at the Blue Water Springs YMCA.

She was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Cox; Her daughter: Brandy Forrester; Her sons: Nicholas Cox and Joshua Cox; 10 grandchildren; Her mother: Doris Greenlee; 2 sisters: Susan Waldrop and Deborah Scott; 3 brothers: Ricky Roberson, Terry Ellis Cunningham JR, and Terry Lee Cunningham; She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Terry E. Cunningham Sr.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 until 9pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home; Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Cothren and Rev. Terrell Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in New Sharon Cemetery.
