Norman R. Gilfand

Funeral services for Mr. Norman R. Gilfand age 77 of Harvest will be conducted Saturday October 8th 2016 at 11:45AM from  Hazel Green Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Bolan officiating. Mr. Gilfand passed away peacefully at home September 18th after a battle with lung cancer. He was born in Albany, New York and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Coral Gables High School. He continued his education at the University of Florida and graduated in 1964 with a BS in electrical engineering. Norm went on to work for NASA in Cape Canaveral, Florida and after leaving NASA he worked in missile defense for the Navy, Army and Air Force. Norm loved everything, Florida Gators, working on cars and talking about space. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Marshall County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Gilfand, his mother, Margery McMillan and by his father and step mother, Morris and Muriel Gilfand.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Golden (Charlie), his son, Eric Gilfand, his step daughter, Chris Willard (Daryl), his step father, Wesley McMillan, grandchildren, John Golden, Patrick Golden (Kelly), Zach Willard (Kendra), Tucker Willard and Chance Willard, great grandchildren, Madelyn Willard and Gavin Golden.
