Mildred Key Hopper, 93, of Huntsville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening. She was a kind and loving person who, over the years, provided care for several family members who were ill. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Mildred was a Christian and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was a gifted cook, enjoyed baking, and was a talented seamstress.
Mrs. Hopper was preceded in death by her husband, John David "J.D." Hopper, by her son, Jimmy David Hopper, and by her parents, Houston & Nellie Hall Key.
Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley & Ken West; Her four grandchildren: Kelly West, Brian West, Alison Hopper Hughes, and Jimmy David Hopper; 8 Great-grandchildren: Evan, Alec, Savannah, Kipp, and Hadley West, Patrick Baugh, Jackson Hughes, and Winter Hopper.
The family will receive friends on Monday at 2:30pm at Epworth United Methodist Church with funeral services following at 3pm with Rev. Todd Noren-Hentz officiating. Burial will follow the service and will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
