Kevin Todd Skrenes

Kevin Todd Skrenes was born May 31st,1968 in San Mateo, California.  He became the adopted son of Peg and Norm Skrenes in 1974 while the family was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.  He was a 1986 graduate of Hazel Green High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Athens State University in Computer Information Systems in 1992.  While enrolled at Athens State, he co-oped with Teledyne Brown Engineering and continued to work there after graduation.  He designed database management systems for several companies in the past, the most recent being Accelerated Designs.

Kevin was a gifted musician playing trumpet throughout middle and high school and at St. Mark's Lutheran Church for solos and wind ensembles.  He was a loving father to his son, River.  As a friend, he was always willing to help others in need.  As an organ donor, he continues to help people even after his death.   With his quick wit, he could always find the brighter side of most situations.  Kevin never met a challenge that he wouldn't face head-on and he would work diligently to resolve any problem.  He loved working jigsaw puzzles and passed that love on to his son.

Kevin is survived by his son, River Skrenes;  Wife, Brandy Williamson; Adoptive parents, Peg and Norm Skrenes;  Sister, Jennifer Wesley; by natural mother, M. Johnson,  and by his natural father, Mick Smith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 until 7pm at St. Mark's Lutheran Church located at 200 Longwood Drive SE;  Huntsville, Al.  Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Pastor Gary Soop and Chaplain Otto Wood officiating.   A graveside committal service will be Friday at 10am at Concord Cemetery located on Joe Quick Road in New Market, Alabama.
